The anthill resumed its broadcasts after the cancellation of that of last Wednesday, October 30, due to the media coverage of the disaster caused by DANA which devastated the Levant, with the Valencian Community as the main epicenter of the tragedy. This Thursday, October 31, the show resumed its broadcast, with Pablo Motos gives a heartfelt speech about what happened and provide support to victims.
For the presenter it is a personal moment, because the tragedy affects him personally, as Motos himself recalled. The driver comes from Requena, which is one of the areas affected by DANA. “Even if it’s with a knot in our stomach, tonight we’re going to have a good time because we all need to get some fresh air in the midst of so much anguish, pain and despair,” he shared at the start of the show.
Motos gave a very personal speech, given that one of his closest friends is among the missing. “We need a little encouragement. I come from Valencia, I was born in Requena, my family is there, they are incommunicado. My best friend was able to take refuge in a large car. AND another friend of mine is missing and we don’t know anything about him. We hope that he is protected and incommunicado,” he expressed, visibly affected.
“Life knows how to make you fragile. These people are like that, desolate, without dreams and without their loved ones. Deaths that we haven’t seen and it’s going to be hard because having a loved one leave like this is very difficult to overcome. You are empty, without direction. Not only were the walls and ceilings broken, but also the sense of security, because everything changed in a few hours,” he continued.
“All the nonsense that worried us yesterday has been swept away by the storm. We are all in the same place, in what now? Life fights. Even though we experience pain, deep down we know that almost all of us can overcome it. But everyone, the elderly, who have a tired body and who don’t have much life left, will not be able to overcome it if we don’t really help them,” he continued.
“And when I say the truth, We all know that a few months later the harsh reality will appear. The reality is that after the rupture of the Tous dam, the Lorca earthquake or the La Palma volcano, many families have still not received a euro of the aid received and continue to live thanks to solidarity of their neighbors and loved ones. In La Palma, there are still people who live in cars, in containers or in prefabricated houses“, he expressed.

“And it’s the same in areas affected by natural disasters. We citizens should not allow this. We should make a real effort to be unitedif only for that and to have memory and determination in a few months, when the shock has passed,” he said.
“It’s a matter of practicality. Concerning humans, at this moment when it is horrifying to see the fragility of everything, I am left with the image of the lady with water up to her neck, clinging to her dog and her cats.. She was trapped by water and mud in a wooden house in Utiel. He is the rescuer who risks his life to save a lady with a dog and cats,” he shared.
“This lady is proof of human greatness, of the courage we can show to save our loved ones. This lady is the image of love that doesn’t give up. And this rescuer, who plunges again and again into muddy water and who risks his life to save a lady, her dog and her cats, tells us that the pain of others hurts us and that We are human, even if often something bad has to happen for us to remember it.“, he said.
“If you have someone close that you love, hug them. Every minute of life is a gift and we are here to celebrate it. “This is what we are going to do tonight,” he concluded, provoking applause from the audience, who then received Belén Esteban.
