One of the defendants in the case of dry rations for the Russian Ministry of Defense reached a deal with the investigation

One of the defendants in a criminal case on charges of taking bribes from managers of the Gryazinsky food plant and stealing 1.3 billion rubles for supplying 9 million substandard dry rations to the Russian army, signed a pre-trial agreement with the investigation, Kommersant reports, without citing his name.

The accused claimed that the bribes were received by the former Deputy Minister of Defense, General Dmitri Bulgakov for the conclusion of contracts with JSC Voentorg for the supply of dry rations. The intermediary, according to him, was a businessman Igor Kotelnikov (died in prison, denied involvement in the case).

According to the newspaper, Bulgakov recently testified in the case of dry rations. He said that he was “very familiar” with Kotelnikov, but did not maintain relations with him, and also stated that he did not accept bribes from the plant management and did not influence the conclusion of contracts or the acceptance of food products in the units.

The general’s defense confirmed that he was questioned, but did not provide details.

“Almost every day, information appears in the media about Bulgakov’s involvement in certain circumstances, which is nothing more than fiction. But so far he has only been charged in one case.” – said Bulgakov’s lawyer Alexey Dudnik.

The media previously wrote that Bulgakov was arrested in connection with the case against the leaders of the Gryazinsky plant. But, according to Kommersant, the general’s case is related to the conclusion of a contract for the provision of energy inspection services for internal and external lighting systems of the Military Medical Academy named after him. CM. Kirov. Bulgakov is accused of participating in the theft by fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) of about 50 million rubles. He denies any wrongdoing.

Since 2010, Bulgakov has been in charge of army logistics and led the work on supplying the troops with weapons and military equipment. Was he dismissed in September 2022? Reminds me of RBC.
