More specifically, the investigation prepared by the supervisor shows that only 7% of Spaniards “totally agree” with the affirmation that the information provided in the information programs of the RTVE channels (La 1, La 2 and Canal 24 Horas) is objective.
In this line, 19.6% of participants in the Household Panel corresponding to the second quarter of 2024 indicates “strongly agree” with this statement. Thus, the percentage of Spaniards who consider RTVE information to be objective reaches 26.6%.
On the contrary, 12.1% of those questioned consider that the information offered by public radio and television is not at all objectivewhile 10.4% think so only a little. For their part, 36.7% said they neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement made by the supervisor during the consultation.
If we compare with previous household panels (The CNMC includes this question in all second quarter editions), increases both the percentage of those who consider the content of RTVE information programs to be very objective and that of those who consider that it is not at all.
These percentages change considerably if we only take into account the opinion that those viewers who regularly watch RTVE news. In this case, more than half (56.2%) consider that the information provided by RTVE channels is objective and only 13.2% believe that it is not.
Specifically, 16.6% completely agree with the statement that the information provided in the news programs of La 1, La 2 and Canal 24 Horas is objective and 39.6% completely agree. The percentage of indifferent people drops to 30.3% and the percentage of those who slightly (8.7%) or strongly disagree (4.5%) also decreases.
The CNMC also asks participants in the Household Panel if they think that the programming of RTVE channels adequately reflects all political forces based on their parliamentary representation. In this regard, 24.5% say they very or somewhat agree, the same percentage as those who somewhat agree or not at all.
As was the case with objectivity, if only regular viewers of public radio and television news programsthe percentage of those who think that there is plurality amounts to 48.5%, while those who do not share this opinion are at 17.5%

On the other hand, the Household Panel shows that just over half of Spaniards (55.1%) regularly follow one of the public television channels (La 1, La 2, Canal 24 Horas, Teledeporte and Clan TV) . 36.3% say they are regular viewers of RTVE news.
THE the most loyal audience for public radio and television remains among the oldest age groups. Concretely, 71.2% of Spaniards aged 65 or over followed one of the public channels. A percentage which is 62.7% for those between 50 and 64 years old and 50.4% for those between 35 and 49 years old.
However, the CNMC emphasizes the increase in audience in the youngest age groups compared to the same quarter of 2023. 44.1% of Spaniards (+4.7 points) aged 10 to 15 followed one of the public channels, a percentage that is 36.4% (+5.6) in the case of those between 16 and 24 years old and 42.3% (+9.2 points) in the age group which goes from 25 to 34 years old.
