The Telegram accounts of several parliamentarians were hacked, the news site revealed on Wednesday political. The deputy (Var, National Group) Laure Lavalette confirmed having been a victim of the compromise, which affects “all political groups”according to another elected official. At the request of AFP, the anti-cybercrime section of the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed, on Friday, November 22, that it had opened an investigation and referred the matter to the Anti-Cybercrime Office.
The elected representatives of the National Assembly received a warning email from the Assembly’s computer security services on Wednesday, alerting about “account commitments” in instant messaging. This email warned them that if they clicked on a fraudulent link and entered their phone number, their Telegram account could be hacked and used to send “malicious content”.

Political journalists have received messages on Telegram from some parliamentarians, offering, for example, their recipients to see photos. “from your elementary school teacher”.
Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, who for a long time refused to provide data about his users to the authorities, was charged in Paris at the end of August with numerous crimes related to his messages. Telegram has since modified its moderation rules to better collaborate with legal authorities.
