Telegram channels that authorities associate with the leader of the opposition Pobeda bloc, Ilan Shor, and politicians affiliated with him, were blocked today, October 10. When users try to navigate to them, they see a message about violating local laws.
The decision to restrict access to information resources is related to the suspicions of the Information and Security Service (ISS) about the illegal activities of their owners, representatives of the local opposition. In addition to Shor, the parliamentarians are accused of violating the law, although without specifying exactly what Marina Tauber, Alexander Nesterovsky AND Vasily Bolyuchief of Gagauzia (bashkan) Evgeniy Gutsul. Their accounts are not available, as are the Telegram pages of the public organization “Eurasia” and the news portal Gagauzinfo. In total, about 12 Telegram channels stopped opening.
The editors of Gagauzinfo.MD have already appealed the decision to Telegram, stating that they “did not violate any laws, neither local nor international.” Additionally, a request was sent to the administration to clarify what exactly was violated.
Previously Facebook* and Instagram* Pages of Moldovan opponents were also deleted.
