Oppositions to the Corps of Assistants of Penitentiary Institutions: conditions, dates and examinations

He Official State Gazette includes the call for oppositions, in free rotation, from the Ministry of the Interior by which it intends to fill 800 places in the Corps of Prison Institution Assistants.

What conditions must I meet to become a prison assistant?

People who wish to participate in this call must have Spanish nationality; possess the functional abilities to perform the tasks required by the position; not have been convicted of an intentional crime with custodial sentences of more than three years and be in possession of the Baccalaureate or equivalent.

When can I submit my application? How can I do it?

The deadline for submitting applications begins on October 11 and ends November 8, 2024.

Registrations must be made electronically via the website of General State Administration.

What will the exams look like to enter the Corps of Prison Assistants?

The selection process will be governed by opposition, which will include two exercises and a training period.

Opposition phase

The first exercise will be divided into two parts: in the first, candidates will have to respond in writing to a multiple choice questionnaire with 120 questions. In the second part, candidates must solve in writing eight practical hypotheseswhich will consist of five multiple choice questions. In both cases, questions answered correctly will count as yes; Answers left blank will not count and those who answered negatively will not count. they will subtract a third of the value of the vouchers.

The second exercise will consist of a medical examination aimed at verifying that candidates do not present any of the causes of medical exclusion. They will be carried out under the supervision of the State Administration faculty and the result will be measured as appropriate or not.

Internship period

People who have successfully completed the opposition phase will access the training period, which will be divided into two parts.

The first will be the phase of theoretical and practical trainingin which the candidates will carry out functions typical of the jobs of the Corps of Assistants of Penitentiary Institutions, which will allow them to acquire the theoretical knowledge required to perform the required functions.

The second phase will be theoretical and practical improvement. In this, candidates must combine functions and theoretical training. During this final phase, candidates’ performance will be monitored to verify that they have the personal skills and attitudes for the position.
