It’s no longer yellow but orange. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the alert level in part of the province of Grenade for this Wednesday, November 13. The affected areas are Costa Tropical, Genil basin and capital of Granada.
According to the update made by the agency at 9:30 p.m. this Tuesday, November 12, the notice comes into force. at three in the morning Tuesday through Wednesday and will remain active until 11:59 p.m. In other words, precipitation is expected throughout the day.
The orange alert will extend along the tropical coast, which covers towns like Motril or Almuñécar. The latter city already borders the province of Málaga and the Axarquía region, where the red alert has been declared. This could mean that the precipitation there will be even more intense. In Motril, Salobreña, Almuñécar and Albuñol Schools will not reopen and day centers and centers for disabled people will not operate either, as announced by the Andalusian government.
The Genil basin extends from its source in the Sierra Nevada to the Loja region, from where the river passes today into the province of Málaga. On its way is the capital Granada, which will be on orange alert all day.
