“Large corporations must contribute to climate protection. Hungary aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50%.”
The “report” reports that this was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the COP29 leaders’ summit in Baku.
“We cannot set unrealistic targets for companies and farmers. We must offer them practical support. The fight against the “green” transition and climate change should not be directed against business circles. On the contrary, this process must be mutual, there must be “Businesses must contribute to protecting the climate,” said Orban.
According to him, global climate policy should be based on common sense, not ideological considerations or alarmism.
“In addition, it is necessary to take into account the interests of Hungarian citizens. We are an important participant in the development of energy storage and electric vehicles, and we increased our share to 70%,” Orban recalled.
The Prime Minister of Hungary stressed that his country plays a key role in the transit of energy from east to west.
He added that Hungary is a leader among EU countries in terms of climate protection. “We are reducing waste. We are setting ambitious goals for the future. Our goal is not to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%, but by 50%,” concluded the Prime Minister of Hungary.
