The court sentenced a resident of Orel who spread false information about the actions of the Russian army in the area of the Northern Military District to five years in prison. This was reported today, November 22, by the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Oryol region.
According to the case file, in July 2023, a man posted publicly available videos and comments on a social network containing deliberately false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine.
“The court sentenced the man to a five-year prison sentence to be served in a general correctional institution.” – says the message.
A resident of Orel was found guilty under paragraph “d” of Part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public dissemination, under the guise of reliable messages, of deliberately false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). A criminal case was initiated on the basis of materials from the Federal Security Service of Russia in the region.
