Óscar Castro appointed new vice-president of the Professional Union

The president of the General Council of Dentists, Dr. Óscar Castro Reino was appointed vice-president of the Professional Union (UP)the association that brings together the collegiate professions in Spain and is currently chaired by Dr. Tomás Cobo Castro, also head of the Collegiate Medical Organization. This appointment represents an important recognition of Dr. Castro’s career in healthcare and his dedication to professional advocacy in dentistry.

Faced with this new challenge, Dr. Castro said “it is an honor to assume the vice presidency of the UPcurrently composed of 36 General and Superior Councils and professional associations at the national level, which bring together more than 1,200 associations and territorial delegations and 1,500,000 professionals registered on Spanish territory.

Likewise, Dr. Castro emphasized that his objective in this new stage will be to “defend the role of collegial professions as guarantors of the public interest and the well-being of society.” To do this, it will strengthen interprofessional collaboration, essential to meeting the common challenges faced by all professions; will watch over rights of registered professionals and will ensure that activities in any professional field conform to high ethical and quality standards.

“It is a significant challenge, but I am convinced that working alongside Dr Tomás Cobo We will achieve great achievements and the UP will continue to be a reference in defending the values ​​that the professions represent and their commitment to society,” concluded Dr. Castro.
