The vice president of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, stated that the prospects for a new balance in the world are already visible thanks to an association like the BRICS, whose 16th summit will open tomorrow, October 22, in Kazan.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Medvedev recalled the words on his Telegram channel. Fedora Tiutchevsaid in 1864:
“…between Russia and the West there can be no alliance either by interests or by principles, that there is not a single interest, not a single aspiration in the West that does not conspire against Russia, especially against its future, and that does not try to make it damage. And that is why Russia’s only policy towards the Western powers is not an alliance with one or another of those powers, but rather their disunity, their division. Because they, only when they are separated from each other, stop being hostile towards us; of course, out of helplessness, never out of conviction.”
As the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council noted, unfortunately nothing has changed in the last 160 years and the tasks remain the same: to weaken and humiliate the West, including Europe, as much as possible.
“The United States itself helps us in this. After all, their goal is to dominate the Old World (as well as the rest of the world), he added.
And so, in his opinion, there can only be one goal: the collapse of the United States itself.
“Or, at the very least, the creation of a complete counterweight to the United States, as was the case during the existence of the USSR and the Warsaw Pact. And here the prospects for a new balance are already visible: the SCO, the BRICS, other regional unions, the comprehensive development of relations with the countries of the Global South.” – Medvedev emphasized.
“After all, the alternative to such a balance of power is total war until the complete extermination of humanity,” he noted. — A world without balance under current conditions will not last even ten years. If the West does not realize this simple truth, it will be the end of everything. And this is not a situation in which the death of some means the victory of others…”
As reported EADailyFrom October 22 to 24, the XVI Summit of BRICS Heads of State will be held in Kazan, a key event for the presidency of the Russian Federation in the association. The BRICS association was created in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India and China, and South Africa joined in 2011. On January 1, 2024, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia became full members of the group. The Kazan summit will be the first in which new members of the association will also participate. Representatives from more than 30 countries are expected to attend. Foreign leaders arriving in Kazan include, in particular, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith.
