Owners of a club in Lalín (Pontevedra) tried for having 10 employees without Social Security registration

The Fourth Section of the Provincial Court of Pontevedra ruled this Tuesday to condemn the trial against the owners of a hostess club in Lalín, for a crime against workers’ rightsafter being registered with Social Security only one of the eleven employees of the premises.

The accused are a married couple, both without criminal recordwho ran the establishment “Latin Fire” dedicated to the hostess activity, him as manager and her as administrator.

According to Europa Press, during the hearing, it was recalled that on October 27, 2022, the Immigration Brigade had carried out an inspection of the premises. “in case they are forced to” the employeesbut he only found that in the club there were four workers who did not contribute to social security and six others were not authorized to work in Spain.

Today, these workers have retracted everything that was stated during this inspection. The prosecutor has requested for each of the accused a a prison sentence of 2 years and 3 months, as well as a nine-month fineat the daily rate of 15 euros.

In terms of civil liability, the representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office did not request a specific amount for unpaid Social Security contributions, because expects this to be done when the sentence is served.
