Amancio Ortega, owner of textile giant Inditex and Spain’s richest man, donated a “very significant” sum of money to treat people affected by DANA in Castile-La Mancha.
This was said on Tuesday by the President of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, during the ceremony to lay the first stone of the future headquarters of the 112 emergency service in Toledo. He stressed that the Galician businessman is mobilizing an “immense flow of money” to help those affected by the disaster.
Although Page did not specify the amount of Amancio Ortega’s donation, regional government sources confirmed to EL ESPAÑOL – EL DIGITAL CLM that will reach 900,000 eurosdistributed equally between the two Castilian-Manchego cities most affected by DANA, Letur (Albacete) and Mira (Cuenca).
The same sources indicated that the help of the owner of Inditex It will be routed through the Social Protection Department of the Castilian-Manchego Executive.with the aim of reaching families who need it most.
