Pager explosions in Lebanon: media reported on Norway’s decision

The Norwegian Security Service (PST) has announced that it sees no reason to further investigate Norway’s alleged involvement in supplying explosive pagers to Hezbollah.

Reuters reports this.

The department noted that the inspection did not reveal facts that could become the basis for launching an official investigation.

Previously, the intelligence services of Bulgaria and Norway announced their intention to investigate an incident involving citizens of these countries. A company registered in Sofia, Norta Global Ltd, was reported to have played a key role in the sale of pagers to Hezbollah, and that financial transactions were also carried out through Bulgaria.

Norta founder Rinson José, who lives in Norway, was the focus of the investigation. However, shortly after the information was made public, it was not possible to establish contact with him.

Despite public interest in the case, the Norwegian Security Service did not provide further details, citing a lack of sufficient grounds to continue the investigation. The incident continues to be the subject of attention of international observers.

Earlier, “Kursor” wrote that the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon spoke for the first time about the explosion of a pager, as a result of which he was injured.

The Ambassador indicated that an instruction to press a button appeared on the pager screen and he followed this advice.

Kursor also reported that during the investigation it became known how the Hezbollah terrorists’ pagers, equipped with a detonator, managed to pass inspection at the Beirut airport.
