It should be noted that in 2023 Pakistan began a disputed campaign against foreigners who said that they were illegally living in the country, most of whom are Afghans. Millions of Afghans fled to their country over the past decades; To avoid war or poverty.

The officials who said, provided that their personality is not disclosed because they are not authorized to declare the media, said that the proposed expansion is aimed at giving refugees more time to resolve their personal affairs in Pakistan, such as selling property or finishing business, before returning to Afghanistan as an organized and generous way, according to the report from the associate Presses on Tuesday.

A senior official said that the decision to submit an offer to extend was made last week, and a resume was raised about the fate of Afghan refugees, which will be included in the classroom.

For its part, the Ministry of the Interior, which controls a wide campaign to deport the Afghans, has not yet commented on a new decision, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not released any comments.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously expressed the hope that the Afghan authorities will create “favorable conditions” for the complete integration of repactavians into Afghan society.

UNICEF said that more than 5,000 Afghan children are not accompanied by their families who returned to Afghanistan from Iran in a large wave, which included 150,000 people through Islam -Kalaa this month (IB)

Earlier this year, Pakistan announced his desire to leave 3 million Afghans, including one million and 400,000 with “registration cards”, and about 800,000 cards with a “civilian citizen”, in addition to a million of Afghans who have no identification documents and live illegally.

Officials said that the Ministry of State Affairs and Border Regions in Pakistan submitted an offer to the federal government, which recommends extending 6 months for owners of “registration cards”.

The campaign for the deportation of Pakistan faced serious criticism from the United Nations and Human Rights Office.

The organization of human rights accused the Pakistani authorities of arbitrary detention and forced deportation of the Afghans, noting that many of them are persecuted in accordance with the rule of the Taliban, which seized power in Afghanistan in 2021.

Return a million and two hundred thousand from Iran and Pakistan this year

Meanwhile, the United Nations refugee agency stated that those who were at least a million two hundred thousand Afghans were forced to return from Iran and Pakistan this year, warning that large deportations could destabilize Afghanistan, which is already suffering from fragility of the situation.

Iran and Pakistan began separate campaigns in 2023 to expel foreigners who said that they live illegally on their lands, setting time and threatening forced deportation for those who do not leave voluntarily. Two governments deny that they are aimed at Afghans who fled from their country to avoid war, poverty or the rules of the Taliban.

The Supreme Commissioner of the United Nations on Refugees said that out of a million two hundred thousand Afghans returned to their country, more than half of Iran, after the deadline established by the Iranian government on March 20, in order to leave or confront forced deportation.

The agency noted that Iran deported more than 366,000 Afghans this year, including refugees and people living in similar situations.

The 12 -day war between Iran and Israel also contributed to an increase in the number of departures. The largest number of returning was registered on June 26, when the border moved about 36,000 Afghans in one day.

Arafat Jamal, a representative of the Kabul Afghan capital, said: “Afghan families are again eradicated from their roots, and they pray to their country with several goods, and they have hunger, exhaustion and fear that many of them have not settled.”

He added that women and girls are very concerned, because they are afraid of restrictions imposed on freedom of movement and fundamental rights, such as education and work.

More than half of the population of Afghanistan depends on humanitarian assistance, but opposing the policy charged by the Taliban, and significantly reducing financing increases the deterioration of conditions, in the light of reducing the activities of humanitarian institutions and NGOs in the provision of basic services, such as education and healthcare.
