The National Police have arrested a Spanish taxi driver from Palma for allegedly breaking the rearview mirror of another taxi driver from Calvià while he was picking up customers at Palma airport. The confrontation occurred on August 2, when a taxi driver from Calvià was at the taxi rank at Palma airport waiting for a customer to board.
In a statement, police said that at one point another taxi driver approached him and told him he could not pick up customers at the airport. The taxi driver from Calvià replied that he could do so under an existing agreement between Palma Town Hall and Calvià Town Hall.
Despite the explanation, the Palma taxi driver replied that if he saw a customer getting in, he would break his rearview mirror. Moments later, seeing that the customers were going to get in the taxi, the accused approached the victim’s taxi and I would have kicked the mirror out.
