Pamplona inaugurated a new section of cycle path bidirectional 1,240 meters which connects the Landaben industrial zone with the rest of the city. This infrastructure 2.50 meters wide joined the Avenue Saint-Georges by the cycle path sustainable axis of Doctor Juaristireaching the Sanduzelai Public School. This intervention, which also includes a new stage illuminated pedestrian with Berlin cushions in the NA-700improves Pamplona’s connectivity with Orcoyen and the region.
The work, which benefited from an investment of 1.74 million eurosare financed by funds from the Recovery, transformation and resilience plan. The intervention is part of the “Low Emission Zones and Transformation of Urban and Metropolitan Transport” project which seeks to promote sustainable mobility. Although the main infrastructure has already been completed, the final tasks, such as planting 27 treeswill be completed at the beginning of 2025.
The new cycle path, which follows the design of Civil engineering works and road safety audits (PAV)go along it Avenue Saint-Georges and the roundabout at the intersection of A and E streets by Landaben. This road constitutes a further step towards the future integration of the cycle path of the Rue Miluze with the durable axis of Doctor Juaristithus offering a safer and more accessible route for cyclists in the region.
The works also improved pedestrian safety by installing a traffic light crossing with Berlin cushions on the access branch of Orcoyen At NA-700which will protect pedestrians at a key intersection. Additionally, changes have been made to the public lightingwith the installation of 33 new light points and the placement of 21 columns of traffic lights. In the garden they were transplanted 12 Ginkgo biloba trees and has been activated continuous tree pit of 200 meters to increase the landscape value of the territory.
