The Town Planning Management Council of the Pamplona City Hall agreed during its meeting today to award the works contract for the correction of the floods in Rochapea via collectors and check valves. The Town Hall will invest a total of 201,008.56 euros in these workswhich should start before the end of the year.
The objective of these works is it that of control the entry of water into collectors, basements and streets during the great avenues of the Arga river in the neighborhoods of Rochapea and San Jorgeby placing final discharge check valves in collectors that do not have them on the east and south sides of the district Rochapéeand southwest of the district of Saint George.
Furthermore, a large manhole and spillway will be located and reconstructed in the lighthouse area Rochapéea new collector section will be made to exit another weir towards the river, and new views will be dug in Rochapea and new views.
These measures have the approval of Commonwealth of Pamplona Region and with a favorable report from the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation, part of these has been considered in the river planning model approved by the plenary session of the Pamplona City Hall in May 2023.

In the Rochapea lighthouse areaThe well will be located, which the Commonwealth estimates should be under the wall next to the pedestrian ramps.
There, the spillway, the connection with the outlet pipe to the river, which must be in this well, will be reconstructed, improved and enlarged, and the bottom of the outlet collector to the river will be cleaned. In addition to the new wella new evacuation point will be built on the river bank further downstream, with a new collector and new concrete fins, and the manhole covers will be changed.
In the Lavanderas area, in the river environment, near the El Vergel bridge, will be placed a check valve in the outlet pipe of a new well to be built into the existing storm drain draining into the canal. Likewise, new flared reinforced concrete fins will be built at the exit of the Las Lavanderas canal.
In the San Jorge neighborhoodA check valve on existing well outlet pipe in the pedestrian zone of Sanduzelai Street and another at the exit point towards the river of the waters relieved from the general sewer south of the football field and the nursery school.
