Paris Saint-Germain is involved in a scandal over pro-Palestinian fans

French Interior Minister Bruno Retallo criticized the display of a giant banner reading “Free Palestine” at a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) soccer match. He said this was “unacceptable.”

When asked if he would seek sanctions against PSG, Retailo told radio Sud: “I don’t rule out anything. I will demand an explanation from PSG.”

Football fans unfurled a giant banner reading “Free Palestine” yesterday before the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, eight days before France hosts Israel in Paris in a Nations League match.

The banner depicted the Dome of the Rock, a center of Palestinian imagery and part of the religious site that gave its name to the terrorist group Hamas to its attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.

The banner also showed a torn Palestinian flag with red stains and a boy wearing a T-shirt with the flag of Lebanon, where Israel is fighting the terrorist group Hezbollah.

Furthermore, the letter “i” in the inscription “Free Palestine” was the image of a map on which the entire territory of the State of Israel was represented, as well as Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, painted in the colors of the Palestinian Kefiya.

“War in the countryside, but peace in the entire world,” reads the inscription below.

During the match, fans displayed another message that read: “Does the life of one child in Gaza mean less than the life of another?”

PSG, which is majority owned by the Qatari government, said it was not aware of “any plans to issue such a message.”

Previously, Cursor wrote that soft drinks from Gaza and Palestine began to be sold in Berlin.
