Parliament resumes normal business after confirming Le Senne’s continuation as president

On Tuesday, Parliament holds the first plenary session of the new period of ordinary sessions, a week after the extraordinary session that served to confirm the continuity of the Gabriel Le Senne as president thanks to the abstentions of the PP.

The effects of DANA that hit Menorca, the start of the school year, the course of the tourist season and the migration crisis These are some of the questions that MPs will raise in the control questions addressed to both advisers and the President of the Government, Marga Prohens.

The session will also be preceded by the series of meetings that Prohens plans to hold on Monday with the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups to discuss the new political direction.

The regular session period resumes amid another controversy, this time over the use of the press room by non-attached members.

After the left and Vox criticized and initially vetoed the use of these facilities by the deputies who left the groups, the Council finally accepted, albeit temporarily, that Non-members can use the room but always after the groups.

The plenary session will begin at 10:00 with the inauguration of the new PSIB MP. Therese Suarezwho replaces Sílvia Cano, who gave up her status as assistant to return to teaching.

The agenda also includes a question from the PSIB to the Government on housing, and two motions, one from the PSIB and the other from Més per Menorca, on LGTBI and tourism policies respectively.

The plenary session will end with the debate of two non-legal proposals. The PP will defend an initiative on the reduction of VAT on meat and fish, while the socialists will defend another on the working conditions of workers.
