Partial evacuation announced in Tver region due to drone attack

Air defence repelled a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in Toropets, Tver region, Governor Igor Rudenya decided to partially evacuate the population from where air defence is working and extinguishing the fire, the regional government reports.

Early on Wednesday, the regional government reported that a fire had started in Toropets as a result of falling debris from unmanned aerial vehicles while repelling an attack by air defence forces, and the blaze was being extinguished.

“In Toropets, Tver region, a fire is being extinguished at the place where the wreckage of the UAV fell, air defense forces continue to repel a massive drone attack in the sky above the city,” – the government said in a message on its Telegram channel.

In addition, it was decided to partially evacuate the population from where the air defence is working and the fire is being extinguished.

“To ensure the safety of residents, the governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, decided to partially evacuate the population from the territory where air defenses are operating and fire is being contained,” – adds the message.
