The World Youth Shooting Championship held in Lima, capital of Peru, has ended.
Oku.Az reports that Azerbaijan was also represented at the World Cup, which was attended by 566 shooters from 51 countries. Among the award winners were athletes from 22 participating countries.
Azerbaijan finished the world championship with 3 medals. Imran Garayev won gold in the men’s 50-meter shot and Sofiya Barkhalova won bronze in the women’s competition. Our national team of Zeynab Sultanova, Leyli Aliyeva and Sofiya Barkhalova won silver in the team competition in 10m air pistol shooting.
The Azerbaijan national team took 12th place in the championship medal table.
It should be noted that India became the winner of the World Cup in the medal ranking, having won 13 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals.
