Pashinyan received a cold reception at the summit: the French-speaking fiasco in Armenia

The International Francophonie Summit held in France literally turned out to be a fiasco for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This statement and opinion was expressed in the Armenian media, not in Russia or in the West. Reports and commentary say Pashinyan’s string of foreign policy failures continues. It is about the ruling team unilaterally “betting” on the United States. The Prime Minister received a cold welcome at the Francophonie summit. It is true that he met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, the meeting with the president was not specially chosen, it was more of a protocol. The Armenian media especially notes that the final declaration on Armenia-Azerbaijan relations at the summit was more neutral.

The reasons are also interesting. It is noted that the prime minister’s closeness to Washington has caused discontent with Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, as well as France. Regarding Iran’s discontent, quotes were given from the media in this country. For example, the “Telegram” channel belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shared an interesting message: “At a time of rising tensions between Israel and Iran, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, met with The head of the Intelligence Department of the US Department of Defense also published documents and videos showing the placement of US long-range radars on Armenia’s border with Iran Armenian media write that “this will not be. well received by Moscow, Paris, Tehran or Baku. “Iran has expressed its discontent in this way.”

The focus here is on France. Macron’s government simply intends to turn Armenia into its next colony. In this direction, the United States is the main obstacle. E. Macron forgets a fact here. There is no concept of an ally or friend for Armenia. What happened in relations with Russia is clear proof of this.

France, more precisely, Macron’s government still hopes to be able to achieve something by providing comprehensive financial and moral support to Armenia. This person has lost his sense of rationality to such an extent that he is damaging the reputation of the International Organization of La Francophonie. Instead of turning the organization into a platform for discussion of more global issues, it is busy meddling in the internal affairs of countries. Furthermore, he started an ugly smear campaign against the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Baku next month. Ahead of the start of COP29, it has significantly increased its efforts to tarnish Azerbaijan’s image.

France, increasingly desperate over its failures, resorted to cheap provocations. For example, the deputy mayor of Bordeaux, Laurent Guillaume, provoked by the Armenian lobby, organized a travel show to Europe with an electric bicycle under the pretext of participating in COP29. It can also be seen as a continuation of the cheap spectacle that the mayors of French cities put on around the Lachin crossing last year. Without a doubt, the fact that France has resorted to such superficial and primitive options demonstrates how weak and misguided its position is. The Macron regime is acting in the opposite direction to aggravate the situation with measures that go against the norms of morality and decency, as well as to prevent Azerbaijan from properly holding COP29.

Before that, the French leader’s hypocrisy reached its peak and he openly pressured the leaders of sovereign states to abandon their planned visit to Baku in November in order to participate in the climate summit. Notably, President Macron sent a request to the Nigerian leader to boycott the summit. But President Bola Tinubu ignored Macron’s threats and said he would attend the event. Therefore, such appeals and demands were sent to the leaders of other countries. Regarding Armenia’s participation, its leadership has expressed its intention to participate in COP29 from the beginning. However, after Pashinyan’s visit to Paris, Yerevan’s position changed. This is confirmed by the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MAE). The statement underlines that what happened within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie must be evaluated as a manifestation of Armenia’s lack of interest in the peace process, its intention to invade the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan at every possible opportunity and use by France. of Armenia for its own narrow interests.

“Despite France’s threats and open blackmail, the Azerbaijani side expresses its gratitude to the partner member states of the BFT for their unwavering loyalty to international law and the humanitarian mandate of the BFT, and for resolutely opposing the disruptive activity aimed at “targets the sovereignty and territory. integrity of Azerbaijan and undermines the normalization process”, – Azerbaijan It was highlighted in the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Apparently, France is literally forcing Armenia to submit to its wishes. However, in terms of results, it is Armenia and Pashinyan who fall into an embarrassing situation. Iravan himself understands very well that he is a foreign body there and does not belong to the aforementioned organization. The Armenian people should finally understand that France is making them a new colony.
