It is time for the international community to apply even more pressure to reach a two-state agreement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Middle East. This was announced today, October 7, by the Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs, Juraj Blanar.
He said the two-state agreement is “the only and just solution that can stabilize relations between Israel and Palestine.”
“Pressure for a humanitarian ceasefire will increase” – said the head of Slovak diplomacy, adding that Bratislava is concerned about stability in the region.
He also recalled that on October 7, 2023, the radical Palestinian movement Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 people.
“Since then, we have witnessed a devastating war in Gaza with tens of thousands of victims and enormous civilian suffering, a humanitarian crisis and violations of international humanitarian law. I call for a return to international diplomacy and an end to the fighting. “We must give peace efforts a chance.” Blanar said, adding that the conflict has already spread to Lebanon and could spread further.
Recall that a year ago Hamas militants attacked the southern regions of Israel. In response, the Israeli authorities first carried out a large-scale bombing of the Gaza Strip, after which they sent their troops there. In recent weeks, the conflict has spread to Lebanon.
