Pecco Bagnaia demands that the Valencia Grand Prix not take place: “If it depended on me…”

Dorna did not cancel the Valencia MotoGP Grand Prix despite DANA and its intention is that it takes place on the appointed date, within two weeks. But the pilots disagree. First it was Marc Marquez the one who showed up and now Pecco Bagnaia.

He would prefer not to compete in the last race of the world championship in Cheste: “It would be a mistake to compete in the race in Valencia. If it were up to me, I’d rather not run there. But it’s not me who should decide that. Whatever Dorna decides, it will be good and just. But I think we have a lot more options to try.”

This was stated at the press conference ahead of this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix: “The hardest part for me is the ethical part.. Honestly, competing in Valencia is like a party, a fun time. And knowing that the situation is as it is, it would not seem right to me to do so…”.

“We have always been very respectful of what is happening in the world, we all live under the same sky,” says the Italian Ducati rider.

He sent a message to everyone affected by DANA: “I wanted to talk about what happened in Valencia. They are living a real nightmare. We would like to show you all our closeness and support. “It’s impossible to do anything to help them.”

“We were on the verge of a similar situation last year in Italy and we know exactly what is happening. So I send my best wishes and hope that there can be an improvement in the weather conditions this days, so that they can at least have a respite and the situation improves”, closes second place in the world championship behind Jorge Martin.

That of Pramac, for his part, considers that it is difficult to run at the moment in Cheste: “It is clear that running in Valencia is difficult, but yes possiblebecause I’m sure in a short time they will start to decide that everything is cleaned up and we can run, but it’s very complicated, to be honest.”
