The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezrejected the replacement of the Generalitat Valenciana by the Executive DANA Management because he would stay “efficiency” to the action and response to be given to people affected by the floods in the province of Valencia.
It thus excludes decreeing the National emergency as requested by the leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóoand this would involve dismissing the president of the Valencian Generalitat, Carlos Mazoncommand of the crisis.
Sánchez defended that it is the Generalitat that manages the entire emergency operation after DANA, not only for a question of “efficiency” but also for “respect” for institutions and for “responsibility”, ensuring that the time has come to initiate a political debate on possible “negligence”.
