Pension plan holders affected by DANA will be able to withdraw funds over the next six months

Pension plan holders affected by DANA will be able to withdraw funds over the next six months

People affected by DANA who are holders of retirement plans can withdraw up to a maximum of 10,800 euros exceptionally for the next six months. This is one of the measures of the second aid plan published by the government to make deal with the consequences of DANA.

The manager must make the refund within seven working daysextendable to 30 days in the case of employment-type retirement plans. The measure is specifically aimed at four groups, as indicated in the BOE standard (art. 51):

  • Holders of farms agricultural, forestry, livestock or establishments commercial, industrial, service or work premises and similar affected.
  • Workers self-employed workers who cease their activity as a direct consequence of DANA due to accidents occurring in the affected municipalities.
  • Workers affected by temporary work regulation files (ERTE) businesses affected by the storm.
  • People who lost habitual residence or it was damaged because of DANA.

The plan holder must provide documents proving one of the above situations or, failing that, a responsible statement to the manager of the retirement plan. The measure extends to company social security schemes, mutual social security schemes and insured pension schemes.

The rescue of funds will be subject to the tax regime pension plan benefits. Pension plan benefits are generally taxed as income from work in income tax (IRPF).

Measures of the second emergency plan

The Government has launched more than a hundred measures valued at 3.765 million euros, including a set of extraordinary absences from work by DANAforbearances which will be paid and which the employee will not have to recover. The company will pay 100% of these licenses.
