Pentagon orders $1.2 billion worth of missiles

The US Department of Defense has signed a contract worth almost $1.2 billion with the American company Raytheon for the production of AMRAAM (Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile) medium-range missiles, also for Ukraine, according to a statement issued by the Pentagon press service on September 11.

“Raytheon Co., Tucson, Arizona, was awarded a $1,195,985,081 firm-fixed-price incentive modification contract for a previously awarded Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) contract.” – the statement says.

As follows from the document, the contract provides for the production of AMRAAM missiles and related equipment for their subsequent transfer to Bahrain, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Canada, Norway, Ukraine, Finland, Switzerland and Japan. Work under the contract must be completed by December 31, 2028.
