People affected by CryptoSpain shutdown call for Alvise to be charged after owner testifies he gave him €100,000 for his campaign

The Association of Cryptocurrency Users, which filed a complaint last Friday before the National Court for the sudden closure of the “Madeira Invest Club” (CryptoSpain), announced this Tuesday that it will request the indictment of the MEP of the Se Acabó La Fiesta party, Luis Pérez Fernández, better known as Alvise, after the creator of this company informed the prosecutor’s office that he had provided him with 100,000 euros in cash to finance his electoral campaign for the European Parliament, as revealed by eldiario.es.

This organization, represented by Aránguez Abogados, filed a complaint on September 20 for the sudden closure of this private club of digital currency investors that operated under the brand CriptoSpain and that occurred after El Confidencial revealed that it directed its supporters Alvise Pérez there when he asked for donations for the party he led through his Telegram channel.

More than 27,000 people, according to the complaint, would have contributed with funds that ended up in the digital wallets of this company created by Álvaro Romillo that the National Securities Market Commission has already classified as as a financial beach bar in May last year. The closure is said to have resulted in a loss of $1 million in assets for investors, as the plaintiffs estimate that it managed around €300 million.

The complaint, on behalf of various interested parties, was presented on Friday before the National Court and is still awaiting distribution. Along the way, according to information published by eldiario.es, Romillo wrote to the prosecutor’s office providing screenshots of conversations with Alvise Pérez and stating, in addition to his desire to find a way to return the money to investors, that he financed his electoral campaign.

Specifically, he explains that not only did he provide him with the digital wallets to which the donations were to be directed – and that the activist shared on his Telegram channel inviting his subscribers to contribute – but that he also provided him with 100,000 euros because the collection was slower than expected, according to the information published.

Legal sources specify that for this reason, the people concerned will file tomorrow an extension of their initial complaint to also direct the actions against Alvise and will ask the National Court to admit it and disqualify the Supreme Court, where it sits. They had just presented an extension to request the blocking of a battery of Romillo assets located in the Dominican Republic.

At the same time, the State Attorney General’s Office, where Romillo sent his letter, will have to send it to the corresponding prosecutor’s office or, in the event that a case is first opened before the central investigating courts, directly to the agency.
