“Reports in foreign media about a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and elected US leader Donald Trump are false, there was no such conversation.”
Oku.AzAccording to TASS, this was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, during a briefing.
“There was no conversation. This is not true at all, it is completely made up,” Peskov said.
He also expressed his opinion on the publications “The Washington Post” and “Reuters”, which published news about the alleged conversation, describing it as “the most obvious example of the quality of information published in sometimes even quite respectable publications.”
It is worth remembering that according to the American press, Putin and Trump discussed the situation in Ukraine and peace on the European continent.
It should be noted that the last telephone conversation between Putin and Trump, as reported by the Kremlin website, took place in July 2020 (in those months, Trump was serving his first presidential term). The agenda included several international issues, including strategic stability. In the following months, there were other contacts: Putin, together with his colleagues from the United States and France, issued a joint statement on Karabakh and also sent a telegram to Trump wishing him a speedy recovery from COVID.
