Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced at the government meeting that preparation of the plan for the transfer of the capital of the republic has begun.

The president appointed his first deputy, Mohammad Reza Aref, responsible for preparing the plan.
“Ignoring this issue may cause our country to face an ecological crisis and many other problems in the future,” Pezeshkian emphasized.
On September 7, the Iranian president declared the need to move the capital from Tehran to the coast of the Persian Gulf. In his words, Tehran is currently facing problems that cannot be solved in any other way.
Ruhulla Mousavi, a member of the internal policy committee of the Iranian Majlis (unicameral parliament), said that this idea can be fully implemented if proper preparations are made.
