Piastri achieves a surprising pole ahead of Norris and Verstappen in the Brazilian GP sprint standings

Oscar Piastri created a surprise in the sprint classification of the Brazilian Grand Prix by beating Lando Norris in his last attempt. The Australian was very close to his teammate during all the sessions, but Norris had pulverized all the times and everything indicated that the Briton was going to lead the starting grid of the sprint race, but his teammate took the best time from him. [Así hemos contado la clasificación al sprint].

Team “Papaya” will form the first starting line of the Brazilian GP sprint race. Only Piastri was able to stand up to Norris who led all the qualifying sessions. Max Verstappen, who will serve a five-position suspension in Sunday’s race due to the change of two powertrain elements, was unable to move closer to the top of the standings.

The RB2O achieved very good times in the first and third sectors, but in the second he lost up to four tenths to Norris. Far from being able to fight for pole, the fight is with the Ferraris. Charles Leclerc will start in front of Verstappen who will start from fourth position, while Carlos Sainz will start fifth.

At this point in the season, everything is uncertain. The 47 points with which Verstappen leads Norris could be reduced after Brazil, while McLaren can also be on the table for the World Constructors’ Championship against Ferrari. After another poor performance from Checo, Red Bull is not expected to be in the fight.
