“The theory that plastic objects cause the development of cancer has not been proven by anyone.”
Oku.AzThis was reported by Yevgeny Cheryomushkin, senior researcher at the Institute of Clinical Oncology of the Oncology Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, candidate of medical sciences, citing news.ru.
According to him, before starting the production of this material, a lot of research is carried out:
“No one has proven that microscopic elements entering our body directly cause the formation of a certain tumor. There is no doubt that some plastic enters our body, but for now there is no need to panic to replace all items of plastic in the house. A lot of research is done before starting to produce anything. “No one denies that it is impossible; “It’s a synthetic material anyway, but for now it’s more than just rumors.”
The expert highlighted that the debate about the impact of plastic on the development of cancer is still open.
“It is known with certainty that there are some types of plastic that still cannot be used. Restrictions are imposed on the use of materials that release chemicals with carcinogenic effects, even in the production of tableware,” highlighted the oncologist.
