“Playing with fire” – Lavrov explained through Newsweek the consequences of the attacks in Russia

Talking about attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with Western weapons on Russian territory is playing with fire and can have dangerous consequences. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek.

“The possibility of allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to use long-range Western missiles to deeply strike Russia is being discussed. Playing with fire in this way can have dangerous consequences. As President Vladimir Putin said, we will make appropriate decisions based on our understanding of the threats posed by the West. Draw your own conclusions.” – said the Russian minister, TASS reports.

US Secretary of State Antonio Blinken and the president of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky At the meeting in kyiv on September 11, no decision was made on using American weapons for attacks deep into Russia. According to an ABC News source, during a lengthy meeting, Zelensky gave Blinken a “detailed plan” for how kyiv could use Western weapons to attack Russian territory and provided him with a list of possible targets.

On September 12, Lavrov said that the decision to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons to strike targets deep in Russia was made a long time ago and now they are trying to formalize it in the public space. Previously, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, in a conversation with the TASS team, indicated that with the supply of long-range weapons to kyiv, the sanitary belt could reach Poland.
