Along with many professionals, poets also participated in the Karabakh war that lasted 44 days. In fact, the poets whose words are as sharp as their weapons fought on two fronts.
Oku.Az presents some of those poets:
Poet Nijat Farman He voluntarily participated in the Patriotic War. He says that war is one of the most difficult and painful events in human history:
“It not only causes confrontations and victims, but also psychological, social and economic consequences for people.
I knew it more or less before the war. Simply being a living witness instills a completely different feeling in a person. All human thought is rooted in one thought: I wonder how long I can last. Will I be able to fully see the freedom of the country? After every loss, new thoughts arise: I wonder when it will be my turn? How will I return home: martyr or wounded?
My only fear was losing some part of my body and surviving. I had fully prepared myself to be a martyr. There a person understands how valuable every second is. The war changed almost everything in my life. My vision of life, my way of thinking has changed. I better understood how precious time is. Because I had never raced against time before.
I witnessed how brave and heroic my nation is, no longer in the history books, but directly while writing history. I saw true love, true affection, true friendship.
Fortunately, the war ended with victory. We also had a small part in this victory. It was our comrades who left us who gave us this victory. They will always live in my memory. “I ask God to have mercy on them.”
Nijat Farman was awarded the “Participant of the Patriotic War” medal for the liberation of Jabrayil and Gubadli.
Emin Piri He volunteered to go to the front. He was a platoon commander during the war. He fought for the liberation of the villages of Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Khojavand, Khojaly and Shusha. The last place of service was Lachin.
“Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Hadrut front… Here we count not by the stars, but by each mortar shell, the broken hopes, the tears of mothers. The dream that died in the womb of a loving warrior…” – said the poet, who was promoted from the rank of lieutenant to senior lieutenant for his services during the war.
Emin Piri, who was always known for his poems, distinguished himself for his heroism and bravery on the front.
The warrior poet was awarded the medals “For the liberation of Khojavend”, “Participant in the Patriotic War”, “For distinction in military service.”
During the April battles, he organized a large march to the front under the slogan “Towards Karabakh.” Oguz Alparslan He voluntarily participated in the Patriotic War. Their warpath began in Fuzuli and continued in the directions of Jabrayil, Gubadli, Hadrut, Khojavand, Tagaver, Tugh and Red Bazar:
“Participating in military operations as a citizen and artist was perhaps a great opportunity for me. I was doing my civic duty and, as a writer, I witnessed many stories that will be written for future generations.
I wrote not about the heroes of my imagination, but about the people with whom I fought shoulder to shoulder on my creative path.
We gave many martyrs. But the victory was our greatest joy. There are no tears in our eyes, but in our hearts there is love for the country, the light of joy that Victory gives. It is good that I was able to do my small duty for the integrity and freedom of this country during the Patriotic War. I’m proud of it!”
Oguz Alparslan was awarded the “Participant of the Patriotic War” medal for the liberation of Jabrayil and Gubadli.
