On Thursday, the lowest water level was recorded on the Warsaw Vistula River – only 6 cm, according to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Resource Management (IMGW). This is 1 cm less than the previous low entry.
According to IMGW, a low record of 6 cm at the Warsaw-Wulvar hydrological station was first recorded on Thursday at 5 in the morning. The previous low record was 7 cm, recorded on Wednesday, August 27. The absolute minimum for the region is 20 cm.
Vistula provides about 70% of Warsaw’s water needs.
The press secretary of Joland Malishevskaya, Joland Malishevsk, in an interview with Euronews, assures the residents of the city that the situation is not dangerous for watering the Warsaw Islands and there will be no water. The company’s ships are constantly working on the river to ensure the effectiveness of Warsaw’s water supply.
From the low level of water, the Warsaw River in the Vistula River will not work from August 12 to the youngest, the Warsaw public transport department reported.
