Police catch man dismembering wild boar on street in Orcasitas

The municipal police denounced a resident of Arganzuela for violating environmental regulations: he had no better idea than to stand in the middle of a public road to carve up a wild boar that he had hunted the day before in a Guadalajara reserve. The animal was already cut into different pieces and had to be removed from the street after verifying the offense on site.

The events occurred this Sunday at 11:20 a.m. Officers from the Usera District General Police Station received a call from a pedestrian who warned them that there was someone dismembering what looked like an animal at number 5 Solara Street and Simca Street, in the Orcasitas neighborhood.

Officials from the Office of Citizen Services (OAC) immediately appeared on site. This is a park next to the Renfe Cercanías station parking lot and next to which there is a children’s area and the Edith Stein bilingual charter school. The neighborhood is occupied by hundreds of people.

The police verified that there was indeed a dismembered wild boar, with axes and knives next to it, which this man, a 55-year-old Spaniard, was using for this purpose. When asked what he was doing, he replied: “Yesterday I hunted the wild boar, but as we were late, I am cutting it today”, all this with astonishing calm. According to him, he shot him on Saturday in a hunting reserve in Brihuega (Guadalajara).

The individual presented a health certificate to cut the game and the animal itself had a tag informing this. Additionally, he stated that he held a license to hunt big game, although he had not presented it at the time.

The hunter had laid out fitted sheets on the grass and placed the boar there, the skin of which he had already removed. He also had large garbage bags and dog food containers in which he had placed viscera and some of the skinned fur of the animal, which he had also decapitated.

“I usually do these things in the countryside, but my dogs ran away yesterday and I was late, so I had to start here today,” the man insisted, to the surprised looks of the agents acting. Eventually, they filed a complaint against him regarding environmental regulations.

Experts told ABC that before cutting a piece, and for other characteristics, it must be approved by a veterinarian. It is normal to handle these dead animals on farms where they are hunted or in the worst case on other private property, such as a garage or one’s own house; but not in the middle of the street, on a sunny Sunday morning with so many people passing through the neighborhood, including children.

Products stolen by drug addicts

On the other hand, the National Police announced yesterday an operation in a restaurant in the Tetuán neighborhood during which its owner distributed “gastronomic” products stolen from supermarkets by drug addicts in the neighborhood, the sources in the file told ABC .

There was ham, octopus, sirloin and olive oil. The hotelier bought them from the thieves at a low price and took them to his establishment, located on Bravo Murillo Street, the main street of the neighborhood. Investigators also determined that this man had an employee on his premises in an irregular administrative situation, working up to 13 hours a day. A large number of products were seized, worth 700 euros, and the manager, a 26-year-old Romanian, was arrested.
