During September, police officers detained 40 foreigners living illegally in Baku.

It was reported that during the month of September 2024, documents giving the right to stay or live in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan were found as a result of the search operation carried out by the Department for Combating Illegal Migration of the Republic from Azerbaijan. The Department of Passports, Registration and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with officers of the territorial bodies of the capital’s police in Baku, expelled 40 foreign citizens who were living without registration and who did not comply with the registration rules for their location and residence. when they moved from one place to another and refused to leave once their stay or residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan had ended, they were detained. According to the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses, an administrative offense protocol was drawn up against those persons and they were handed over accordingly.
It should be noted that from the beginning of this year to the present, as a result of operations and searches carried out in conjunction with the Anti-Illegal Migration Directorate of the General Directorate of Passports, Registration and Migrations and the agents of the territorial police forces of the republic, it was identified a total of 413 foreign nationals and appropriate action was taken against them.
