Munich police announced they shot a suspect on Thursday, September 5, in an area near the Israeli consulate general and the local documentation center on the history of Nazism.
“In the Karolinenplatz area, police shot and hit a suspect. The area is cordoned off.”local police tweeted without giving further details, urging people not to spread false information and not to post images of ongoing operations.
No information was immediately provided on why the person shot was considered a suspect.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said the Munich consulate was closed at the time of the shooting and that no consulate staff were injured.
