Possible Iranian response to Israel: British lawmaker made outrageous statement

Controversial left-wing activist George Galloway claims Iran has yet to respond to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not yet spoken, but when it does, it will do so with a volume far louder than anything Netanyahu’s colonial state has ever faced,” the British lawmaker said in comments carried by Iran’s official Press TV channel.

He claims that Iran has done “more for the Palestinians” during the current war with Hamas in Gaza “than any other country.”

Noting that the US sent the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East last month to protect Israel from a possible Iranian attack, Galloway criticized the move, saying: “An aircraft carrier is just a floating coffin.”

The Scottish-born lawmaker, nicknamed “Gorgeous George”, has had a long and controversial political career in which he has represented several British parties, including Labour.

He sparked controversy in the 1990s when he visited then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and told him: “Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your tirelessness.” He also gained international fame in 2005 when he was called to testify on Iraq before the US Senate. He had previously been expelled from the Labour Party for his stance on the war.

Earlier, Cursor wrote that Iran announced “heavy losses” for Israel since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip.
