The Congress of Deputies will vote this Tuesday on a non-law proposal from the PP in which Government urged to recognize Edmundo González Urrutia as winner of Venezuelan electionswho has been in Spain after requesting political asylum. A vote that was requested before the exile of the opponent since now the “popular” have modified their discourse, ensuring that “The candidate of the Venezuelan people is Maria Corina Machado“.

In fact, this Monday, the deputy secretary of Institutional Affairs of the PP, Esteban González Pons, was dislocated inside and outside his party due to his turn against the opponent Edmundo González. “It is time to remember that candidate of the Venezuelan people is Maria Corina Machado, who if she was not at the head of the candidacy, it is because the regime disqualified so he wouldn’t win and that it continues until the endneither sells nor surrenders to the dictatorship” he said, clearly referring to the Venezuelan opposition leader.

They also demand that the Executive carry out the recognition of González in the European institutions with the aim that the On January 10, 2025, he takes office as President of Venezuela. The PP also accuses, in the explanatory part of the proposal, the former president of the government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, whom it reproaches for his “silence”, a clear example, they say, “of this unacceptable lack of commitment to truth and justice”.

After the arrival in Madrid of the former presidential candidate and opposition leader, the PP insists that his victory be recognized while the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, assured that the position regarding the situation in Venezuela It has not undergone any changes and continues to require the submission of electoral files. of the last presidential elections so that they can be verified, because otherwise no supposed victory could be recognized.
