The Deputy Secretary of Economy of the PP, Juan Bravopresented this Sunday a 13-point plan with measures for those affected by the DANA, which include the expansion of the list of municipalities concerned, a single portal for the management of aid, which would be routed through the Tax Agency, or actions concerning Education and mental health.
These requests are part of a set of measures that the PP will present to the Executive of Pedro Sanchez during this afternoon’s meeting at the Congress of Deputies so that they are incorporated into the royal decree-law which, as expected, will be approved this Monday in Council of Ministers.
During a press conference at the national headquarters of the PP, Bravo detailed other measures such as a vehicle renewal line; a housing project; another to regain mobility; forecasting the various expenses assumed by the communities and which will require financing and co-financing funds; recovery of the channels concerned; pay attention to infrastructure to avoid flooding; representations regarding taxation; improve the extraordinary temporary disability allowance and start working on a medium and long term reconstruction plan.
At the same time, he proposed to the Ministry of Education to activate the “‘Educamos’ Fund, which finances all the actions necessary to relaunch educational activity in the centers.” And he also stressed “the importance of taking care of mental health”, which is why he proposed “the creation of a Psychological follow-up office and care for those affected. “We are concerned about mental health,” Bravo emphasized after the elaboration of this document, developed in “coordination with the Valencian Generalitat” and after having set foot on the terrain of the disaster.
In this context, Bravo requested to expand the aid of Plan the movements for electric, plug-in hybrid or hydrogen vehicles, with an amount of up to 14,000 euros per car at the time of purchase, as well as having a Renew the package with direct aid of up to 10,000 euros for vehicles of any technology.
In addition, he demanded a new aid line for commercial vehicles of up to 50% of the cost – with a limit to aid of 40,000 euros for the purchase of a car of any technology-, as well as other aids in vehicle repair up to 50% damagewithin the limit of the amount set for the acquisition of new vehicles.
He also spoke of the need for “social mobility rental” for families with fewer resources, so “that they can access a vehicle, with a monthly payment of between 50 and 150 euros for a maximum duration of 3 years”. Likewise, with the aim of guaranteeing the mobility of families and workers due to damage to their vehicles, Bravo advocated the establishment of an exemption from transport subscription fees.
In terms of taxation, Bravo asked to reduce or eliminate a series of taxes, such as taxes linked to the reconstruction of housing, as well as “interest-free deferral” of personal income tax or any other tax.
He also asked to reduce the tax on economic activities corresponding to 2025 and that housing that benefits from the aid provided for in the future royal decree-law of the government, or in that already approved by the Generalitat, “be exempt from payment of the Property tax (IBI) during the next financial year.
In addition, he defended the 100% increase in the salary received by those affected who are on sick leave due to extraordinary temporary incapacity, compared to the 75% provided for in the government’s royal decree-law.
Infrastructure
Concerning the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge which he heads Therese RiberaBravo asked to guarantee the necessary investments to have defense infrastructure against “future flood risks”as well as cleaning tasks and other actions necessary for the recovery of river beds and ravines.
