The speaker of the Indonesian parliament Puan Maharani asked the government to immediately search and validate related to the data on the number of recipients of social assistance (social assistance), which, as they said, participated in online games. According to him, this step is needed after PPATK has identified more than 571 thousand recipients of social assistance, which, as indicated in online -seasoning games with a transaction value of 957 billion rubles.
“These conclusions should be closely monitored and carefully traced. Validation of data is very important that the vulnerable community that must be protected is actually becoming a victim twice. The data is used incorrectly, and then their social assistance stops, ”Puang said in his statement, Thursday (7/10/2025).
He emphasized Puan, PPATK data should be used as the initial basis in the audit, not using directly to decide on the disposal of social assistance.
“In the case of Judol, many methods include the purchase and sale of accounts and abuse of identity, including recipients of NIK,” said the first woman, who served as the speaker of the Indonesian parliament.
“Maybe there really are recipients of social assistance, who are really involved. But there may be those who do not know, and the data are incorrectly used. The government should study this carefully and fairly, ”Puan added.
Pouan appreciated that this showed still weak protection of public data, because the breakdown in the security system and the recipient of social assistance can be easily obtained by irresponsible parties.
“If NIK can be used by others for transactions in online games, this means that our data protection system is still not enough. This should be improved. Protection of personal data is part of the protection of citizens’ rights, ”said the former Coordination Minister of PMK.
