President of the agency: “The promotion of Naftalan oil in new markets is one of the main objectives”

“Measures are planned for the formation of a mechanism for the development of the value chain from the processing of Naftalan oil to its consumption. Presidential Decree of September 28, 2024 “On additional measures related to increasing the role of Naftalan oil Naftalan in the development of health tourism” defines new perspectives in this direction.

Oku.Az informs that these opinions were expressed by the president of the State Tourism Agency at the conference “Health tourism in Azerbaijan: opportunities for development” held in Shusha Fuad Nagiyev saying.

Among the main objectives are further development of Naftalan oil as a tourism product, promotion of the resource in Europe and new markets:

“I must point out that in Karabakh and in the east of Zangezur there are areas with great potential for health tourism.

With the participation of specialists from Türkiye, tourism resources, including health resources, were examined and appropriate proposals were formulated in these areas.

In this direction, of course, Kalbajar and its balneological possibilities stand out.

Two of the five tourist and recreational areas proposed in the conceptual document on the development of tourism in Kalbajar are located around mineral-thermal springs and have a health tourism profile.

The president added that Lachin is rich in mineral-thermal water resources and has adequate potential for health tourism:

“Shusha City’s aerial recreation opportunities can contribute to the development of health tourism destinations.

Among our main objectives are the promotion of our country’s opportunities for health tourism at the regional and international level by the State Tourism Agency, the organization of marketing activities in this field and, in short, the creation of brands.
