Prices rise 2.3% in August, registering the smallest increase in food products since 2021

Data on Andalusia

In Andalusia, the CPI fell to 2.1% in August in interannual rate, seven tenths below the interannual rate of the previous month (2.8%), according to the final data published this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

August data is the lowest recorded in the community since March 2021. In monthly terms, inflation in Andalusia has remained at 0%, while so far this year the increase has reached 1.8%.

At the national level, the CPI remained unchanged in August compared to the previous month and reduced its interannual rate by 0.5 points, to 2.3%.

“The continued reduction in inflation continues to reflect the ability of the Spanish economy to accommodate the largest economic growth among the main countries of the Eurozone, as evidenced by the GDP growth data for the second quarter with the Spanish economy growing four times higher than the Eurozone average, with a moderation in prices,” celebrates the Ministry of Economy in its assessment of the figure.
