Irish writer John Banville, Prince Asturia Award from Las Letra 2014, who signs his police novels with pseudonym Benjamin Black, will open this Friday with a presentation of his last work of the 38th Black Week in Gihon, which will take place until July 14 with the participation of more than a hundred authors from different countries.
After the traditional cut of the black tape at the entrance to the old shipyard, where the festival is held, Banxford (Wexford, 1945) will present his new novel “Los Crown” (Alfaguara), a work suitable for the canons of the black genre and tells one of the most difficult cases of the inspector Leo Koldas.
Argentina Claudia Pignier, awarded the Dashiel Hammett 2021 Award for Las -Brothers, will take part in the premiere to present the novel “The Death of others” (Alfaguar), “Thriller” with a political background about a journalist, which is investigated by the death of a young woman after falling from the fifth floor.
New place
In the country of the former military shipyard, Jihon will probably hold a festival, since the City Council plans to develop a project “Blue Military Fleet” to create a Center for Research measures for sustainable activities related to the sea, so the organization must find a new site for the next edition.
