18-year-old Moroccan arrested for murder of Borja Villacis He was sent to provisional prison, accused of committing murder, another attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons, proceedings underway before the Court of Instruction number 19 of Madrid.

The 18-year-old young man, of Moroccan origin, was arrested last Wednesday in Getafe, accused of being one of the two material authors of the assassination of Villacís. The events occurred that day at 12:30 p.m. when, after several gunshots, the brother of the former vice-mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís, died. Within 24 hours, investigators managed to arrest one of the gunmen and his mother, who was driving the vehicle.

But officers were waiting to locate the second shooter, and he fled across an open field next to the first. The investigations bore fruit and he was arrested on Wednesday in Getafe. He was undocumented in an attempt to make police work more difficult, but without success.

Although the name of this person has not yet been revealed, we know that he is a young man of 18 years old, who was already an adult at the time of the crime, and who had a history of his time in as a minor. In fact, some sources suggest he knew the other shooter, Kevin, through their shared misdeeds as teenagers and through their visits to juvenile rehabilitation centers.

On the day of the car, Borja Villacís had rented a white Citröen C3 vehicle with a friend to meet old acquaintances, belonging to members of a family from Bargas (Toledo), with the supposed aim of resolving some disputes and problems related to the fire of a car A. A 53-year-old woman, her son Kevin and another young man, tall and thin, arrived at the meeting in a silver-gray BMW Atocha station.

But at the start of the road from Fuencarral to Pardo, the Citroën and the BMW collided intentionally, as evidenced by the bumps of both vehicles. To Borja’s surprise, two young men armed with an assault submachine gun and a shotgun got out of the BMW and began shooting at the victim, who remained virtually dead in the gutter. The attackers also shot Villacís’ friend, who was transferred to the gutter. Jiménez Díaz Foundation Hospital. Although he was admitted in serious condition due to a gunshot wound, he was able to recover from what happened.

Borja was treated by Samur-Civil Protection paramedics. They attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him but ultimately confirmed his death from gunshot wounds to the head and chest. So, they told officers that a woman and a man were changing the license plates of the car in which they were traveling with others. One of them jumped over a wall and hid the old plates near a tree.

He then took out a bag containing the weapons and placed them in this open field, where a third accomplice was also later seen, the tall and thin young man arrested on Wednesday in Getafe, a young man dressed like Kevin in black . The woman María José EJ, on the other hand, wore a very striking floral dress.

Then, after hearing police sirens, she left the scene alone, while the other two individuals fled across this open field that connects M-40. It is suspected that someone picked them up in a car and took them to their hiding place.

Officers went to the property and examined it thoroughly, finding the BMW’s altered license plates and used firearms in a wooden crate behind piles of rubble, including a caliber 7.62 millimeters and a 12 caliber shotgun.

Following descriptions provided by witnesses of the crime scene and the change of license plate, María José was arrested the same day at a car wash in Madrid’s Plaza Elíptica. She claimed, unsuccessfully, that she had been kidnapped. She is a 52-year-old woman, of Spanish nationality, with a long criminal record and a recent arrest by the Civil Guard.

A day later, a joint operation of the National Police and the Civil Guard captured two men in an urbanization in the municipality of Toledo, Yuncos. One of them was Kevin P., a 24-year-old Spaniard and son of María José. He had been the subject of a search and arrest warrant issued by the national police for years for several crimes, most of them related to the sale of drugs.

The other person arrested that day was Ismael EIV, 24, who was only a necessary collaborator, but not the material perpetrator of the shooting. It is for this reason that since then the agents have been looking for the other person who was in the BMW vehicle that day and who also fired, and who would be the young Moroccan arrested on Wednesday in Getafe. Investigators have thus clarified the most important crime of 2024 in Madrid.

After the first people arrested were brought to court, the first magistrate of the Court of Instruction number 19 of Madrid decreed provisional imprisonment without bail for the mother and son, while Ismael was provisionally released for his alleged non-involvement in the crime of Borja Villacís.
