Prisoners in Iran have been on hunger strike for 43 weeks

A hunger strike continues in Iran in protest against the execution of prisoners.

The “Azad Iran” channel “Telegram” reported this, citing the “Iran Wire” portal.

A new wave of large-scale executions has reportedly escalated in some 30 prisons across the country. In protest against this, in 25 different prisons in Iran “There will be no executions on Tuesdays!” The political prisoners members of the campaign continue their hunger strike during week 43.

The prisons were reported to include those in the cities of Urmu, Khoy, Sulduz (Naqada), Ardabil, Salmas and Tabriz, located in southern Azerbaijan.

The protesting prisoners want to draw the attention of the international community and human rights organizations to the increasing number of death sentences in the country.
