The Generalitat celebrates October 9Valencian Community Day, with concerts by current musical groups, drone shows and immersive experiences with Valencian works of art. These are some novelties of this year’s campaign, which will be added to the open day of the Palau de la Generalitat and the projection of “videomapping” on its facade, as well as other activities in Alicante and Castellón such as workshops for children, concerts. brass bands and fireworks.
During the presentation of the institutional campaign, the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazonsaid it is “a symbolic date full of history, identity and values that explain what we are.” For this reason, he explained that the program is an invitation to celebrate “our party all together”.
Mazón compared the image of this year’s poster, signed by the designer Eduardo del Frailewith the spirit of the “free and protective” Valencians. “In these wings of the dragon on this year’s poster hides a double concept loaded with symbolism: the open wings are those which allow it to fly freely and those which retract are those which cover and protect”, he said. it illustrated.
In this sense, he encouraged people to participate and enjoy the programming designed by the Generalitat and many town halls: “Holidays are more parties if we share them.”
The October 9 poster reflects the winged dragonsymbolic guardian of the Valencian Community, which integrates the identity elements of this land: the flag, the crown and the shield.
“Each of these symbols, full of history and meaning, converge in the shape of the dragon, a creature that spreads its wings with the same elegance and pride with which the Valencian flag flies,” explained the author of the image , to emphasize that the design “evokes both protection and freedom and symbolizes the indomitable and festive spirit of the Community”.
