Marga Prohens will not meet the left to discuss the regulation of construction in flood zones and the legalization of housing because “The agreement is close »as the government spokesperson and Minister of the Economy, Finance and Innovation declared this Friday, Antoine Costa.
During the press conference following the Governing Council, Costa considered useless that the president of the Balearic Islands meets the opposition parties, after PSIB, Més per Mallorca, Més per Menorca and Unidas Podemos demanded an urgent meeting with Marga Prohens to unblock and move the negotiations forward.
The spokesperson assured that the Regional Executive was in negotiations with left-wing groups to reach agreements “with concrete approaches and formulations” of certain amendments which, he hopes, can be approved during the plenary session of Parliament which will be held next Tuesday.
“I can confirm that I have met personally with the left-wing parties and we consider that these negotiations are still in force. The desire is to try to reach agreements. There have already been face-to-face meetings and I have participated in these meetings and I understand that it is enough. “Today we consider that these negotiations can be concluded directly without the need for a face-to-face meeting,” said Antoni Costa.
Negotiations which “are still in force”, he added, and “will undoubtedly continue this weekend”. Furthermore, the government spokesperson said that what was on the table was to reach an agreement. “Our goal is with the days we have left -until Tuesday-, which are days more than enough, reach an agreement because I can confirm that there has been progress“.
Negotiations which, in any case, will not include a meeting between the president of the government, Marga Prohens, and the left, because “this is not considered necessary”. And “this is not considered necessary”, Costa emphasized, because “The negotiations have been going on for two weeks and the president is aware. Indeed, she initiated contacts with the opposition parties “to try to reach an agreement on the legalization of construction in flood zones”, he underlined, insisting on the fact that the agreement “is close”.
Now, the government spokesperson has warned the left that even if “there may be divergent positions on specific aspects”, there is no question of incorporating it into the text of the opinion on the decree- administrative simplification law, which will be debated next Tuesday in Parliament. House, only one amendment, but they are diverse, “No one would understand that because there is no agreement on a specific aspect, no agreement can be found on other aspects”.
Finally, Costa affirmed that whatever happens during the negotiations with the left, The administrative simplification decree continues to have the support of Voxa formation with which “various agreements have already been reached on the amendments both in the presentation and commission phases”.
